Large blood clots, no pain or cramping?

January 7th, 2009
  • I've been bleeding for more than 2 weeks and am passing large blood clots (up to the size of two fingers). I'm not in any pain, I'm not even having cramps. I'm definitely not pregnant or having a miscarriage, as I am completely abstinent. I'm not on and never have been on any kind of birth control. I've had my period for at least 10 years.

I would like some insight about what the problem might be. I realize I should go to the doctor, but I can't go until later this week. I'm not in pain and I'm feeling fine otherwise, so I would not classify this as an emergency. To reiterate, I'm not looking for people to suggest I see a doctor, I'm looking for suggestions as to what the problem might be. Thanks!

  • Extended bleeding and blood clots could mean endomitriosis. But since you are not in pain, I'm stumped. After having your period for 10+ years I would venture to guess that this is not normal. I have no answers, but I would really like to know what your doc says! Would you let me know the results?
