Unable to Edit existing Custom BB Codes

Editing an existing Custom BB Code in BB Code Manager and attempting to save the edited entry results in the following error which seems to me to be indicative of an attempt to save a New entry as opposed to a simple edit routine..

There is already a BB code tag named 'whatever'. You may not create duplicate names.

Deletion and re-adding the entry doesn't really seem to remove the entry as a subsequent attempt to add, displays the entry originally thought to have been deleted in the prior step..

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Update: Located and un-installed an errant 3.6 hack restored capabilty to edit and save..
